Geez Scott, Just be reasonable about it. God only knows that the courts won't be. (See George Harrison, "My sweet lord" vs. "He's so fine") The law is that if you write an application to do something and copyright it, someone else can't duplicate or use the code for any computer system. You can't copyright a screen or report, but you can copyright a transaction format. You cannot copyright an idea, but you can patent it (see e_Bay). I am not a lawyer, nor is this legal advice. Just comments from someone who has been down this road many times. Got to go work on that time machine now. -- Scott > -----Original Message----- > From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of > pgmr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2003 3:29 PM > To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: RE: strsep sourc > > > If you own the license in one language, you own it in all of them. > Same thing applies for different platforms. > John _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l. --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
