Vinayak, When I recompile a program directly in the production environment, yes, I can debug . Only, my colleagues and I don't find it an option to recompile any pgm that's put into production. (and recompile all old pgms that might be involved in a debugging process and that are already in production) Our procedures always worked untill now and they work if we compile to V5R2.
