Creating an Excel file isn't a simple thing. Excel (and Word and probably Power
Point) use what's called an "OLE2 Compound Document Format" file which is
basically a file version of a COM object. Creating one of these files is
extremely complicated. I think there are third part programs that can do this
(I couldn't tell you names off the top of my head). If you know Java and you
don't want to spend money on it, you can use an Apache package called POI to do
Word and Excel.

   Hi all:

I did find a lot interesting things @ midrange regarding converting PF to
an Excel file. But still a few questions remain:

Using CPYTOIMPF, I was able to create Source Member containing formatted
   data i.e. character strings in ' " ' and numbers separated by ' , '.

But I would like to generate an Excel file from this member without any
human intervention i.e. programmatically. How do I achieve that?

   Please advise.

   Regards,
