The Visual Basic of which I'm familiar uses no end of statement delimiter.
Perhaps more recent versions do.  Nevertheless, I realize that my statement
was not clear.  I was referring to written languages like English, Spanish,
Italian, and the like.  I figured a period would be the obvious choice since
that's what everyone, including non-programmers, are used to using to end a
statement.  

Then again, I don't write compilers.

Java, C, C++, and VB all use the semicolon. These are just the languages I
know anything about. I hope I am right to say most modern languages use the
semicolon now.
