A "rule of thumb" is a suggested approach that works for a significant percentage of applications. It is not something to follow blindly, simply a starting point. This was in response to someone who was asking about blindly changing all programs to ACTGRP(*NEW). As free advice, it was fine. If you'd prefer to review all of Mike's requirements and provide a detailed analysis, then by all means do so. Joe
