Asna's Visual RPG product and IBM's Visual Age RPG are two different approaches. Both salvage our RPG skills. One issue that isn't clear as yet to me about .NET is if it will run on non-Microsoft workstations? Linux is coming At the .NET session did you see what exists and is available right now, or what is promised someday? --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: Monday, March 03, 2003 09:45:17 To: 'RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries' Subject: Visual Age RPG and .NET environment Last week my manager had me attend a .NET session and I was totally blown away to say the least. I have kinda been against Microsoft in the past, but the tools and concepts that they are coming out with are definitely leading the pack (from what I have seen). Anyways, on to my question. . . Has anyone used Visual Age RPG in the .NET environment? Yes it is supported as a .NET language, which means you can use the M$ Visual Studio IDE to build and create your apps. Here is the link if you don't believe me:-) http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/partners/language/asna.asp TIA for any experience anybody can share, Aaron Bartell .
