Or, if you want to play around with integrating Java and RPG programs, you
can call the JavaMail API from RPG.  Instructions are here:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/meovino/opensource/rpgjavamail.html.  You can
point this at any accessible SMTP server (provided it will allow mail to be
relayed through it).

If you have another SMTP server already, you can use SNDM to send e-mails.
You can get it from http://homepage1.nifty.com/uzaemon/#download. We've
been using it for a few years and it's been very reliable. You also get all
of the source so you can do any customizations you want.
