Donna,

If you have another SMTP server already, you can use SNDM to send e-mails. You 
can get it from http://homepage1.nifty.com/uzaemon/#download. We've been using 
it for a few years and it's been very reliable. You also get all of the source 
so you can do any customizations you want.
