No, I missed something.  I saw your problem was due to the binary value having
blanks and my knee-jerk reaction was to tell you to INZ the DS.   If you always
have a print operation in the when fsttim is 'y', then Ken's suggestion of
reversing the tests will work due to RPG's short-circuit evaluation.

If not, simply eval line# = *Zero in *Inzsr or whereever.  Although you can't
use Inz in this case, I believe you are able to directly modify the fields.
