Hi Eric!
This mostly boils down to the habits of the staff and nothing more.  Clearly
the point of writing programs is to get some business thing accomplished and
external DDS provides much more capability to do that than embedded O-specs.
This is from a guy who still uses O-specs purely out of habit and sloth.
But I do use external DDS for AFP print, which is becoming more common, so
perhaps there's hope for me yet.
