Hi Simon!
Thanks for the clarification.  As always, it's good to hear from you.  I
haven't used CL in this fashion for many a year, and I should have actually
tested it out before posting.  Mea culpa.  I was more interested in trying
to get the poster to see how to wrap a 'system' function in his own
procedure, rather than directly call the system function.  I got carried
away - imagine that!
