So is QECCVTEC the only known method to take an edit code and generate the cryptic "edit mask"? It does work, and I have my routine working perfectly now, but I'm leary of calling a program (QECCVTEC) in order to do the conversion--I was hoping for a procedure call. :( Oh well.
