Murali, you've found a good place to ask your iSeries questions, although you may not need to cross-post to multiple lists; the questions I've seen from you so far could all be answered on the Midrange list. Also, if you could explain more why you're asking the question, it's easier for other to give you an insightful answer, or answers, as there are usually many ways to skin a given cat. My concern is that you do sound like you're echoing interview questions. If you're interested in learning the iSeries, why not start with one of the many good books that can give you a balanced overview (there's a lot to it!), then decide which area you need or want more knowledge in. You may be lucky enough to get into a position with some basic knowledge and be trained in, but if you have the luxury of time, take advantage of it to learn. Getting answers to trivial questions may be pointless; I would guess they were asked of you to determine the depth of your knowledge, not necessarily to find out if you know the answer. For example, I've worked on the AS/400/iSeries for about 10 years now, and I didn't know the answer to the question below. I also can't imagine why anyone would care about the answer. However, if I were your interviewer, I would be listening very closely to how you elaborated on the answer, and much less closely to whether or not you knew the bit of trivia. Good luck on your quest to learn the iSeries. It truly is the best business system available (it's tattooed on my forehead). Learning it is a pleasure and rewarding as a career. The more you learn about it, the more you'll like it. As you're learning, bring your questions here. We all learn from the answers.
