no, P1 has a unique name.

but there is something else i have discovered.

I removed the file declaration from module M2 and all the fields references
too.
I read the file in M1 and still the fields do not show vlaues.

I remove the module M2 during CRTPGM and include the proceudres in M1 and it
starts working!!

The shared ODP is the way I normally handle this.  Is there any chance that
P1 has local names that are the same as the field named in the file that you
are reading?
