It should.  I do the same.   Are checking the RETURN value = '1', means the
record WAS found?

How does one look to see what the value is for a %found(filename)?  In our
quest to separate the DB from the programs using sub procedures we are
trying to pass back the result of a chain to a file by doing a

C         return     %found(filename)

but it doesn't seem to be working.
