Mark,

I would consider setting the message queue to some know queue on your
stack and storing that in an external data area. This has several
advantages.
The iSeries-toolkit supports messaging and provides built in support
for
this. The message toolkit is what you would look at. There is some
documentation on the message toolkit at:

http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=8860&group_id=39365

http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=10536&group_id=39365

And a snipped of code that you would put in your initial program, which
uses
the retrieve job stack API to set the default data areas:

http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=10303&group_id=39365

hello all,

I am trying to clean up some old code by replacing /copys to QMHSNDPM
with
a service program. I use a '*' in the sflpgmq field. I'm getting a
'Call
stack entry not found' error when writing the message subfile control
record. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Mark
