I would consider setting the message queue to some know queue on your
stack and storing that in an external data area. This has several
advantages.
The iSeries-toolkit supports messaging and provides built in support
for
this. The message toolkit is what you would look at. There is some
documentation on the message toolkit at:

hello all,

I am trying to clean up some old code by replacing /copys to QMHSNDPM
with
a service program. I use a '*' in the sflpgmq field. I'm getting a
'Call
stack entry not found' error when writing the message subfile control
record. What am I missing?
