Hi, Reading all this it seems that whoever wrote the server didn't understand sockets and the need for a different port/connection at all. Handing off to another port just seems a patchy solution to compensate all this. Anyway, there's no mechanism as far as I know that supports to "hand off" a connection to another port. You can however program any scenario and tell a client to connect again (which is different than handing off) on a different port. Requirement number one is however a clear protocol description from the server side. Without that you'll 'never' succeed in writing a good client.
