What you are saying is what i thought was the problem at first, and after 
lookign at all the record counters for that subfile, they are all 4 digits long 
and the subfile is at approx record number 6550.
I'll have another look at those variables.
Do you think that this could be a RPG400 problem rather than a problem with my 
software?

First, I still can't believe people loading that many records in a
subfile. Didn't your fingers get tired?

Second, Sounds like you had something like EVAL A = B
and A is a smaller size than B and you tried to put something like 1000
into a 3 position field(or something similar)
