David, What if I have a CLP (OPM) that calls an RPGILE with actgroup *caller (which in turn calls other bound ile modules and srvpgms), do I still get the benefits of named activation groups? or do I need the CLP to be ILE with a named group (or *new?) ---original message--- <snip snip> I would recommend that someone wanting to use activation groups should look at using *CALLER wherever practical for both programs and service programs. That means to me everything but the entry points to your applications like commands and menu programs. David Morris
