The bottom line is you don't have to do anything in your programs or DDS to get this to work properly. If the system value QDECFMT is set properly, the thousands separator and character used to indicate decimal positions will be correct. If you need to override this on a system for a particular user, use the CHGJOB command. The following are valid on the DECFMT parameter on CHGJOB. Decimal format (DECFMT) - Help Specifies the decimal format used for the job. The possible values are: *SAME The value does not change. *SYSVAL The value specified for the QDECFMT system value is used. *BLANK A period (.) is used for the decimal format, zero suppression. 'J' A comma (,) is used for the decimal format, one leading zero. 'I' A comma (,) is used for the decimal format, zero suppression. Hope this helps.
