Hi Andy, IIRC, if the SFLPAG = SFLSIZ, you can actually use field conditioning indicators, e.g. N40 ITEMS1 15A O 6 7TEXT('Item Code') N40 ITDSS1 30A O 6 25TEXT('Item Desc.') N40 FREES1 9S O 6 60TEXT(Free Stock') 40 ORDNS1 7A O 6 7TEXT(Order #') 40 CUSCS1 10A O 6 16TEXT(Customer') 40 OQTYS1 5S O 6 30TEXT('Order Qty) Otherwise, your idea of a single display file field formatted by a DS will work. The DSPATR(ND) will not work because the field and its accompanying attribute byte are still on the screen even though they are not visible. If another field's attribute byte or data bytes happens to change the attribute byte of the non-display field, it will suddenly appear. hth, Peter Dow Dow Software Services, Inc. 909 425-0194 voice 909 425-0196 fax ----- Original Message ----- From: "andy.jeffery" <andy.jeffery@ntlworld.com> To: <rpg400-l@midrange.com> Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2002 5:02 PM Subject: Overlapping conditioned Subfile fields > Can this be done? > > Basically I have a subfile containing Header and associated Detail lines. > I want to Display SKU, Description & Free Stock when displaying the Header > and > Order#, Customer Code, Qty etc at detail level however the conditioning of > the fields > using DSPATR(ND) doesn't seem to work?
