-- -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] A scroll bar on a subfile is not hard. A* (for *SCRBAR be sure there's 3 empty columns on the right side!!) A 91 SFLEND(*SCRBAR *MORE) is the whole enchilada. *SCRBAR is a pretty simple option, and your panel has a scroll bar that works beautifully. <Advert.> Get Your red hot scroll bars right here!! </advert> -------------------------------------------- Booth Martin MartinB@Goddard.edu 802-454-8315 x235 -------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: rpg400-l@midrange.com Date: Friday, February 08, 2002 10:22:56 AM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: Technology difficulties Booth wrote: >If Bob Cozzi has to refresh a paragraph, >what possible chance do us merely >mortal programmers ever have of >maintaining this stuff. Bob's being extra careful to Do It Right. In a group of detail oriented programmers, somebody is going to scrutinise every word... But your post struck a chord with me. I'm fairly comfortable with binding and her friends ACTGRP, BNDDIR and QSRVSRC. But I have to admit that the "GUI" like stuff you do with mousable scroll bars and drop down menu widgets seems like black magic to me. Thinking about that for a moment (my brain thermal checks if I go much more than that!) I think it's because of familiarity. To me, scroll bars are new and... odd. But I've never once taken the time to actually try it out. (bad me AGAIN!) Rather than deliver one of my traditional homilies I'll spare the list, but I think the lesson is clear enough. Off to look at your web site and examples.
