if your transaction is a financial tran, especially credit cards & banking,
the check digit
is standard. Just be aware some routines are "home grown", others are more
standard.
If it's credit card "lrc" let me know, I have the rpg code (which came from
this list
several years ago). Watch out for things like a valid "blank" in the last
character of the
string. Don't cat the check digit to the last non blank character. Took 2
months of
live operation before that happened and tran rejected.
