Fetching into different host variable types

It is definitely a black art Rob, but you might find the intro to CLI in the
RPG Redbook "Who Knew ....." a better starting point than the manual.  The
"style" in which those examples were written leaves a little to be desired
but you'll get the picture and I know what a subprocedure freak you are so
you'll soon be dashing out your own versions!!
