I'm not suggesting that this is a "general computer
programming list", my point is that when the topic relates to
programming issues regarding as/400 data access, collation,
and presentation it may well be "on topic" even if it is not
specifically an RPG question.

There have been many discussions here about SQL syntax, api
usage, socket programming, ODBC usage and other as/400 data
access, collection, and presentation issues that only
marginally (if at all) relate to RPG, and nobody (not even
David) has objected.  I think these are all quite valuable,
and provide insight about how to write programs to better
utilize the midrange.

If the post were purely a VB/ASP type of question, I'd have to
agree with you, but all things considered, I don't think the
post was out of line.  It really doesn't fall into a "general
midrange topic", it is specifc to as/400 programming and data
access.

I do respect David's rules, and I appreciate the forum he
provides.  I don't think the rules were broken here.
