Anita,

I hit the send button prematurely. When you start debug you are only
setting break points, not executing the program. ILE interactive debugging
requires three basic steps. First, STRDBG to enter debug mode and to set
break points within the ILE programs and modules you wish to debug. Second,
run your program and debug it. And third, ENDDBG.

Subject: Debug in ILE

I am trying to write all new programs in ILE. But I cannot use debug. I am
trying to read the manual and have compiled it various ways, including:

CRTBNDRPG PGM(MYLIB/RPGPGM) DFTACTGRP(*NO) DBGVIEW(*SOURCE)ACTGRP(*NEW)

After playing around with this, I was able to view the source.

But, when I try to debug it, I use:

STRDBG (MYLIB/RPGPGM)

At this point, I select F10 to step through the program (I normally use
STRISDB).
This is when it returns me to where I was before the STRDBG command.

Can anyone shed any light? Your help is appreciated.
