The simple method would be to use a hard-coded signature during development. IBM use hard-coding most all of the time with their signatures. The allow a "real" signature to be generated when building for production. Alternatively you could stay with a hard-coded signature and change it only when you _know_ that the interface is no longer compatible with old programs.
