What I THINK is wanted here (for what its worth) is that ONE spoolfile/Physical file contains a number of different customer number data, and for each cutomer number the customer numbers FAX number needs inserting at each change of customer number. Or something like that. >>> Jim Langston <jlangston@celsinc.com> 10/24/01 03:48PM >>> Okay, so now I'm a little confused as to what you are actually doing with this file to be able to fax it to your customers. It seems to me that you probably are copying the spool file to a physical file, then creating a tempory file with the information for a customer, sending that to your fax engine, then going on to your next customer, right? Or are you, by some method, able to fax a subset of records in a physical file? If you were creating the tempory work file, it would seem to be a simple matter to add the customer specific information first before you add the customer's fax data information. It looks like I'll have to come up with some multiple file handling stuff. _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
