That is not possible, a subfile takes position 1-80 of each line, you can only have "non-subfile" fields on record formats either below or above the subfile. A windowed subfile will work, but you did not say "how" these extra fields are being used; so this may not be an option. The way around this is "ugly", but I used to work on a S/34 and S/36(pre-subfile days). So do not code this as a subfile, then you can layout your screen just how you want it to look - its not pretty, and can be a lot of extra work; you have to control everything, and have different field names for all the "records" in your fake subfile. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I have a subfile that has 3 fields. I want to place additional non-subfile fields on the same rows as the subfile but keep them outside of the subfile. In other words I want to place fields just to the right of the subfile. I first tried putting the fields in my subfile control, but I got compile errors because the Control overlapped the subfile. I then put the fields into a different record Format. I can get everything to compile, but the fields that are supposed to be to the right of the subfile are not being displayed. My guess is the subfile is overlapping the record format. Does anyone know if I can specify the subfile size horizontally so I can put non-subfile fields on the same rows that the subfile is using?
