>When I apply the command ADDPFTRG on a file, and >users are using the logical files will it work?. I get an >error message stating the object is locked. Hi Giri! That is normal. >If this is true then, when I remove the triggers also >the users should not be using the files?. Right again. One way to avoid this problem is to write a "stub" trigger program. This stub is what you call when the trigger fires. All it does is pass the trigger buffer to the RPG program that does the actual work. That way, you can "suspend" the trigger by using a data area in the second program as a switch to say "go" or "no go." ADDPFTRG STUB update record database manager does a CALL STUB STUB does a CALL TRIGPGM TRIGPGM examines the data area to see if it should be working TRIGPGM does the work --buck
