I guess I'll never see the big deal here.  I've worked in many different
languages all of which (except RPG) had multi-d arrays.  I've used them
(other than in class exercises) maybe 4 or 5 times in commercial programs
in 30+ years of programming.  For those times when I need it, MODS and an
array or a simple subproc will do just fine for me thanks.

Given that multi-d arrays is not a "cheap" change in RPG, there are many
many things that I'd like to see Hans and Barbara do before they worry
about that.  Allowing me to set the current capacity of an array for
example - particularly when it is based.  Heck that would almost make SORTA
and LOOKUP usable!
