They bother me, and I'm sure they bother RPG400-L participants overseas paying by the character. I quote (from 19 August 2001): Folks: PLEASE pay attention to how much of the previous message you are quoting ... there is almost no situation where quoting the entire message is actually necessary. Please pare the quotes down to just those parts that are necessary to make references. In addition, if you are responding to a"n" excessively quoted message, please remove the excess. Thanks! david What's the difference? It seems to me we're quoting a lame system message (as compared to a lame participant) needlessly. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of David Gibbs Sent: Thursday, August 30, 2001 1:45 PM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Do we need to see "This message is in MIME format...? > > This message is in MIME format. That way they'll learn! :) It is no longer a requirement that people send messages in plaintext. The list software extracts plaintext or converts it, and sends out only plaintext. As for the headers ... they don't bother me. Don't let them bother you either. david _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
