Well, certainly no grand slam :-)  I do think, however, that you are
slightly optimistic when you hope to 'demystify file overrides for the
masses'.  Apparently (according to all the problems people are reporting in
mailing lists and news group) file overrides in ILE are a complex subject.
It is just one of the things that used to be simple in the pre-ILE world.
Personally, I like programming in ILE, but I can't help noticing that for
many programmers the world has become a less simple place with the
introduction of ILE.  As a consequence, programmers need more focus on
technical things, where they used to be able to concentrate on business
problems.  RPG programming used to be much simpler than 'real' programming,
but it's closing the gap.
