There is a saying out there that a smart person learns from their mistake,
but a wise person learns from OTHER peoples mistakes.  (grin)

I really don't see the point with the speed of todays processors. I tend to
shoot for clean code myself. I will use CHAIN only when retrieving a single
record and SETLL when the possibility exists for multiple records. When going
for a single record it seems more work than it's worth to do SETLL & READ
when CHAIN does both for you.

Here is a question:

Will all the nanoseconds of processing aquired from knowing the answer equate
to the time spent on the question?  (things that make you go hmmm...)
