SETLL can really bite you,
if using a format name for a LF that runs over multiple physicals,
especially if you start entertaining the 'sparse record syndrome'

so, generally I use chain.
if I just wanna ensure a record exists, without actually using the data.
then a SETLL with a resulting indicator serves the purpose.
BUT, having said that,  I typically only use SETLL over LFs that are not 
prone to the syndrome.

I would like to see the opinions on the speed of these methods as it is a 
time since i last tested it..
