> Any specific examples that show it's usefullness? Anyone? Bueller? In utilities I often read source files. To format the input I use a copy member with based data structures for the different formats I find (DDS, RPG III specs, RPG IV specs). However, when I also do output to a source member I sometimes need the same layout for the record I want to write. Alas, the based data structure is already in use for the input. I imagine I could use LIKEDS for an output record.
