I agree completely - but the original questioner seemed to be determined
not to pass the DS to the subproc so I tried to conform to that.  On
thinking about it afterwards I also couldn't see why a MODS was used at all
since there is only a single field defined in it.  The whole process would
be simpler with an array then you don't get into the mess of "am I passing
the current occurrence or the whole DS".
