Ok, thanks for the book review. I hadn't seen it before, so I was unaware of the limited scope of that book. Simon, I'm waiting in line too, if you like. I made a quick pass at IBM's documentation and I'd like to see more. I caught myself thinking about how I could use UIM panels in a new project, but I have to restrain myself a bit so I can learn it first...... <g> I love this stuff. Hello Simon, I think such a book is needed - and would of course buy one, especially with your name on the front page! I use various UIM templates to build menus, help panels and display panels to interact with the UIM APIs - whenever I face the need to "twist" these panels or their associated functions I also face hours of searching through the documentation. - And I'm often left with the feeling that the final result - with a little help from a book as the one suggested here - would improve substantially in terms of both functionality and (re)useability. As my experience - slowly! - grows I find hidden treasures and solid built-in solutions to complex problems -- having a qualified guide to speed up the learning process would easily justify spending an australian dollar or two on such a book - I'd even pay up front! <g> I don't know if you're familiar with Leif Svalgaards MI eBook (http://Iseries400.org) but maybe such an approach would be a good way to measure the actual interest without writing the whole book first - and would also allow for people to become convinced by seeing for themselves before sending the credit card number!? Hello Eric, You wrote: >So, when are you publishing the "UIM apprentice - Not quite a sorcerers' >guide" <g> Seriously, last time I looked into UIM, I was disappointed with >the documentation. So how many of you would buy such a book? I don't fancy spending the 4 months or so to create a quality book and only sell 3 copies.
