Callp? not with the open(), read(), write() set of APIs you couldn't. open() returns a file handle thats necessary to call the other functions. You COULD use callB, but not callP. eval, of course, is the "right way". :) Of course, you COULD do it in RPG III by using QHFOPNSF and similar API's.
