(OK, so it would be IGNDECERR for CRTRPGPGM then, but in the meantime i'm sure that it isn't *YES. ;-) I tried the following and was surprised, too: IDS DS I 1 90DTLHI# I 1 9 DTLHI C MOVEL'0 1 5 2 'DTLHI C MOVE '2' DTLHI C Z-ADDDTLHI# HDLITM 90 C SETON LR The debugger says after the moves that DTHLI# contains 1050202. I converted that to RPG IV and found out that it behaves almost the same; the displayed value of DTLHI# is 0 1 5 2 2. Strange value for a numeric field. A (RPGIV) TESTN works as expected, it doesn't set on any result indicator. So one Op-code says it isn't a valid number and the next one feels OK with the value?! Barbara, is this really working as designed? The puzzle parts do not seem to fit properly.... What happens when we get George Farr's proposed RANGE-keyword on the D-statements? DTLHI# RANGE(0 999999999) - would the above value be an error or not?
