No - the way I have done it is to use a *PGM _as_ as "service program".
You call the main line and it returns the pointer list.  To do the same in
a Service Program would simply require a procedure dedicated to the task.

By convention.  Right now there is not really any _practical_ way that I
know of to determine the type/length/number of parms.  See the archives of
this and (I think) the MI list for discussion on the topic.
