We do the same thing with telco switches Buck does, plus we do 100,000's of
transactions daily with slot systems that have xor'd data.  It's not even
pretty in RPGIV.  xor is a regular op for the lil bitty (pun intended)
computers and a real pain and drag on the /400.

I made a quick trip through the archives looking for MI builtin references
from Barbara (bmorris) and came up empty.  If someone can point me to the
references or e-mail a code sample I'd be very grateful.  I've not yet used
MI builtins but the MI route has to be better than the table methods in use
here now, and as I say we do 100k's of xor's every day.

I work with telephone switch data.  Because the switch needs to store many
millions of call records, the switch stores many attributes as single bits
to save space.  Extracting these status bits was not pleasant in RPG III...
