Damn right that's not going to work! Here's a radical idea: Why not compile code snippets before posting? The reason this code doesn't work is because AND is a logical operator, not a bitwise operator. This code snippet fails to compile because both of the operands to the AND operator are not valid indicator values. (Even if the AND operator successfully compiled, the = comparison would always return *OFF since AND returns only values of '0' or '1'.) (Perhaps a future release of RPG may have bitwise operations, but that's nowhere in plan yet.) Have a nice day.
