Lurton, the first paragraph defines what it means for a character to be considered "numeric" (zone of C, D or F, and digit of 0-9. 'G' is X'C7', so it qualifies as numeric. The manual seems a bit too clever here though. I did a little survey just now (sample size of 1) and 100% of the people I surveyed were confused by this even though I specifically pointed out the definition of "numeric" from the first paragraph. I'll get the manual changed to say something like this for the 71-72 indicator: "The result field contains numeric characters; the low-order character may also be a letter from A to R, since these characters have a zone of C, D or F, and a digit of 0 to 9.".
