Silvio,
When there is a need to ensure the I/O has been committed to disk, I either
set the file attribute for FRCRATIO to 1, or where I am only performing a
WRITE, I define the file as Input with Add on the F spec and code a dummy
read after LR (or somewhere) to keep the compiler happy. The compiler will
default to blocking Output only files but will not for Input/Add. This is
discernible from the diagnostic produced at the end of the compile listing.

Cheers, Peter

Subject: Strange WRITEFILREC behaviour

I was debugging a PGM (RPG/400) where I had a WRITE to a file with the
corresponding indicator.
After the WRITE the indicator was off, so it had wrote the record. But using
SQL
I didnt saw
the record in the file, only after exiting the debug I saw the record there
in
the mencioned file.
I had read the RPG/400 Reference and didnt found any reference to it.
Does anybody has an explanation for this ?

TIA,
Silvio.
