Strange WRITEFILREC behaviour

I was debugging a PGM (RPG/400) where I had a WRITE to a file with the
corresponding indicator.
After the WRITE the indicator was off, so it had wrote the record. But using SQL
I didnt saw
the record in the file, only after exiting the debug I saw the record there in
the mencioned file.
I had read the RPG/400 Reference and didnt found any reference to it.
Does anybody has an explanation for this ?
