Hi Parvez,

Most of the responses I've read didn't seem to notice that you already went
back to your daily backup tape and recovered the source, but that you lost
one day's work.

People, "Backup tapes" *NE "Recycle bin". When a Windows object is
"deleted", it is actually just moved to the Recycle bin. It has not been
deleted -- it still exists on the disk. It *is* the object at the moment it
was deleted. It is *not* the last backup of the object.

But they are all correct in saying there is no Recycle bin on the AS/400. I
did some quick checking -- there are 81 DLT* commands, many of which call
the same command processing program, QLIDLOBJ. So two ways you could emulate
Recycle Bin behavior are:

1) create your own versions of the DLT* commands in a library above QSYS in
the library list that move the object to be deleted to a library named
RECYCLE (you'd need special processing for physical files with logicals
attached, and for logical files).

2) create your own QLIDLOBJ program in a library above QSYS, with the same
caveats as 1). Figuring out the parameters might be difficult also.
