The short answer:   x'05'

The long answer:

     Do a WRKTBL *ALL/*ALL and find the translation table that will be
used when your file will be translated to ASCII.   Put a "5" next to the
appropriate table and look to see what gets translated to a "09".

Since there are many different languages, many different CCSID's
available, etc...  you really should know how the file is going to be
translated if you want it to work as you expect.
