I'm using a CLP variable as the SETVAR and I get an error saying " 'xxxxx' is not a column in the table" Where xxxx is the value in my CLP variable. John Carr ------------------------- Doesn't look like there's anything wrong. This is a "feature" designed for Office Vision mail merges and is actually documented (steathily) in the Query400 manual. You can supply any name you want for the file. Save the query and run it as a QMQRY as in the example below. You won't be able to run it with RUNQRY. If you use it in batch, you'll have to deal with apostrophes in the SETVAR parm. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
