I just mucked around with this a bit to see what would happen. This code: A FACTOR1 7Y 2B 8 44EDTCDE(J) allowed the field to work like an adding machine. The Enter(-) key gave the odd right-side mark. Nothing I tried would make it be anything else. As Doug says, the hyphen works. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ Douglas Handy <dhandy1@bellsouth.net> Sent by: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 09/09/2000 03:50 PM Please respond to RPG400-L To: RPG400-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: Hex codes showing up when field minus used. Richard, >I think that I have made this >work but I don't remember off the top of my head how I did it. I'm thinking >it was some "keyboard" setting but I have to do some reading. Please do tell me if you (or anyone) knows how to make this work with an edited field *during input* as opposed to output display. I've never found the magic incantation and thought our choices were basically limited to (S)igned input fields with no decimal point, or edited fields with a manual hyphen entry or the D zone switch.
